WEAKend

Saturday morning we got a phone call from a neighbor telling us that his truck had been broken into and some things were stolen. We ran outside to check our jeeps and the stereo in Jon's jeep had been torn out! We now have several spotlights shining on our vehicles to deter someone from stealing from us again. We were lucky that nothing else was taken and so lucky that no one got into our house. It is scary to think that someone was that close to our home and we didn't even know it! We were a little shooken up, but what do ya do? My parents were on a cruise so we had the kids and when the weather was cold and frightening and looking like a snowglobe they were probably snorkeling on a nice beach with warm weather. Not fair. ........OH! AND a dead body was found in the Ogden canyon about a half a mile away from our condo. Nice.

Isle De Mujeras (Island of Women)

We took a boat to the Isle de Mujeras. On the way we stopped in the middle of the ocean and went snorkeling again. There were tons of colorful fish and coral.

Ahoy!

I loved laying out in the hot sun(While everyone here in Utah was enduring through the first snow), I was so happy I made Jon take this Picture so I could remember. You can also see the hair band I bought for ten dollars.

Xel Ha

After Talum we went to Xel Ha to snorkel. The water was really clear and blue. We saw a fish that was bigger than me! Well, it was about three feet long as one foot tall but it scared the crap out of me and Jon wanted to follow it. Xel Ha had these really cool hammocks hung up around and Jonny thought he was in heaven. We brought one home so I'm sure he'll pull it out on the Bradshaw family reunion next summer.

Talum

We went to another mayan ruin called Talum. It was realy cool but it was so humid and bugs were biting so I was swollen and miserable. Plus these little buggers kept attacking me! They would hang out on the path and when you would stroll up it would scare them and they would dart out at you. They were all over and as you can see huge!
I forgot an elastic and Payed for it later.... literally, I paid ten dollars for this hair band to keep the hair off my neck......but it was the best ten dollars ever spent.

Night out on the Town!

Even though our hotel was all inclusive we couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat at hard Rock cafe.

After eating I looked over and started hyperventalating because I saw a Michael Jackson wall (RIP) I ran over to get my picture taken. There was a jacket he had worn and some pictures. That was the highlight of my evening. Jon's was this poster of a Hooters girl that he got his picture with.....boys.

la Luchador Masks..... Nachoooo!

Jon had to get these masks of course. The red one was my favorite so he wore it for Halloween. I wore the pink for Halloween and we just wear the other one's around the house.....just kidding. I think we should have a wrestling match sometime so they don't just sit in a bag. Let me know if anyone's up to it!

Cenotes

This was an underwater lake in a cave. It's called a cenota. It was so pretty. The Mayans used this as thier water source.
On our way down to the cave. The steps were pretty steep and you can't see it but the cave entrance is behind us.

ChIChen ItZa

This was where they would put the heads of the people sacrificed. The stones have heads carved into them. In Mayan culture it was an honor to be sacrificed and only the best were sacrificed.
This was the party place. It was flat on top so they could dance. This is definitely the place I would want to be.
These were the snake heads on the big pyramid. On the summer solstice the shadow makes it look like a snakes body is weaving up to the top.
This picture does not do this thing justice. It is huge! Inside of this pyramid are three more smaller replica's.

We visited the Myan ruins of Chichen Itza. It was beautiful! It was really awe inspiring to be standing next to a gigantic pyramid. They say that in 2012 all the planets are supposed to line up and be directly in line with the top of the pyramid.

Cancun Baby!

Can you say DREAM VACATION??? Our all inclusive hotel was right on the white sand beach. The weather was great and the water was clear! One of my favorite parts was the free drinks! We had about six slushies a day while we kicked back under a palm tree.

Jon say's he doesn't know how he's going to top this one. I think he's set the standard pretty high. But I think we deserved an amazing one year anneversary because we survived our honeymoon. Ha ha
